Determination of Seed Volume Based on Selected Seed Dimensions

The volume coefficient, which denotes a simple relationship between selected seed dimensions and volume, can be used to facilitate calculations in individual seeds, particular species with complex shape. For this reason, thickness, width, length were measured nine of forest trees shrubs. seeds belonging each plant was determined by pycnometry, the results calculate 10 coefficients based on different combinations basic dimensions. calculated had values, they lowest when cube highest thickness. In formula all three dimensions, coefficient ranged from 0.376 0.537, Cornus macrophylla, Picea abies, sanguinea most closely resembled an ellipsoid. When use two formulas square smaller dimension produced somewhat errors seeds. turn, thickness should that rely single dimension.
